Ballroom / Latin Dance Club Proposed

If a ballroom/latin dance class arrived in Newcastle Emlyn, aimed primarily at a younger dance age group (eg people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, rather than a much older generation), would you come?
I am in conversation with Carms County Council about this, and we need to establish demand for either classes or private lessons. (Much like Strictly Come Dancing).
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Great idea Sue, but methinks you are being a tad ageist here! In South America all the ‘much older generation’ are still Salsaing and Tangoing away. You could see if there was demand for a 50s + class. I’m growing old disgracefully and would love to have a go at these and it would be good for me as well? Hope the County come up with some support for this – good luck.
Great idea! I would come to classes. Good luck with the council talks.
Hi Maureen!
Not being intentionally ‘ageist’, I promise!! Just seeking something which caters for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ audience – something contemporary with more modern music, which suits the younger age groups – I understood there were already tea dances in place for the older generations, but yes, anyone at all that would appreciate a Ballroom/Latin class or private lessons without having to drive for an hour…that’s who I’m aiming to try to serve with this. Especially as ballroom/latin dancing has now made it onto Government radars as being such a great activity for keeping people fit and young. Schools are starting to teach it again. It’s just a shame the general public doesn’t have access to this kind of thing unless we’re prepared and able to drive ourselves to a big city. Ditto ice skating.
I think a local dance class is a great idea as I currently drive an hour to Swansea for anything like this. I’m in my 20′s and would probably be more interested in the latin dance rather than ballroom but you never know what other people my age might think. It would be great if it went ahead though so good luck!

I guess they will try out the first 2 evenings to gauge demand, so the more people that come, the greater the chance the classes will continue.
Hello Sue – I’m researching the whole genre of dance clubs for a client of mine and would be very interested to hear whether your venture got started and has continued into a thriving enterprise?
