General Information
Newcastle Emlyn and Adpar in in separate counties (Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion), different Parliamentary Constituencies (Carmarthen East and Dinefwr and Ceredigion) and therefore have separate electoral wards. Newcastle Emlyn is in the Cenarth Ward of Carmarthenshire County Council. Adpar is in the Llandyfriog Ward of Ceredigion County Council. Within the Cenarth Ward, Newcastle Emlyn has had its own Town Council and Mayor (chosen each year by the 10 councillors) since 1985.
