Childrens’ Fun Day great success

Saturday’s Childrens fund raising fun day added a further £2,378.83 to the playground refurbishment fund which was boosted earlier in the week when the Town won £10,000 in the Goodyear “Tyred Playgounds” competition.

Cllr Fiona White of the playground committee said:

“I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their amazing efforts on Saturday and I am very pleased to confirm that the total raised was £2378.83! Well done everyone! Here is the breakdown of how the money was raised.
“So many people have commented on what a wonderful day it was, full of happy people with a lovely community feeling and it was only possible to achieve this due to the 200% committment from everyone who made yesterday possible, not only on the day but all the hard work that went on behind the scenes to organise it. So once more thank you!”

  1. glorious fun day, fiona even managed to make the sun shine all day!

i just wanted to comment on what hayden said, that the park felt like a village green, something i was thinking the park repesented, in terms of community. that green space is at the heart of newcastle emlyn, and up until now, the heart had been taken out of it…

i felt on saturday that the heart, and the spirit of our town had been restored.
