Newcastle Emlyn Food Festival

Newcastle Emlyn Food Festival is a brand new food festival that will be held on Saturday 18th June 2011. Admission will be free

Local businesses have come together to promote the fantastic produe that we have in the area. It’s already promising to be a great day out with our very own local celebrity ‘Masterchef’ Ludovic Dieumegard confirmed to take part.

Bryn Williams of Odette’s in London will be coming to demo on the day. He will be familiar to fans of ‘The Great British Menu’ as representing Wales cooking for the Queen. There will be lots of fabulous stalls – a great day out for the whole family.

Timetable

A number of events will take place throughout the day. The Festival will be opened by none other than Dewi Pws who will them compere throughout the day. Local Children’s choirs will take part side by side with the chef demos. At present, the demo timetable is as follows but may be subject to change

  • 1130 – Ludovic Dieumegard
  • 1215 – Emlyn Arms
  • 1300 – Bryn Williams
  • 1430 – Ludovic Dieumegard
  • 1515 – Emlyn Arms

There will be face painting and lots of other demos and performances throughout the day.

Stallholders

Stall prices:

  • Single Stall – £30
  • Double Stall – £50
  • Table (6x3ft) – £5
  • Electric – £5

All stall holders will be expected to provide their own Risk Asssments, Food Health and Hygeine, PAT testing certificates etc.

Location

The Food Festival will be held in the King George Vth playing fields. To ease congestion in the town, a free Park & Ride will be provided from the rugby ground to the event with a shuttle bus running at regular intervals.

    I came down from London to attend this event as it was the first time it was being held and I wanted to support the people who had organised it. It was an excellent day out with a stunning range of food on offer. I hope that this will now become a regular event to continue the good work of raising awareness of the fantastic food we have in the locality.
