Theolyn and Paddy are post-graduate students at University of Wales, Lampeter, and members of the Alister Hardy Research Centre, based at the University, which studies spiritual experience. The Newcastle Emlyn group will form part of an all-Wales meditation project – the Mandala Project, run by AHS Wales. We hope to assess the experiences and results of groups from different parts of Wales in September this year.

    please note, Theolyn and Paddy are members of the Alister Hardy Society, which is affiliated to the Alister Hardy Research Centre. The Research Centre has staff, but doesn’t have members as such, it does have an extensive archive of personal accounts of religious (spiritual) experience, a library, and numerous publications, and an ongoing international research project to study spiritual experience in global context.

    I THOUGHT THE COMMUNITY WOULD BE INTERESTED IN CO-CREATION OF A SUSTAINABLE FORWARD LOOKING FUTURE FOR THE TOWN AND SURROUNDING DISTRICT. IS A MULTINATIONAL SUPERMARKET WITH CAR PARKING AND A ‘CHEAP AS CHIPS’ NEW BUILD REALLY A STEP IN THIS DIRECTION?

    PERSONALLY I WOULD HOPE FOR A TOWN MARKET AREA WITH PROVISION FOR BETTER PUBLIC/PRIVATE TRANSPORT LINKS WILL BE MUCH MORE SUITABLE & APPRECIATED. IT COULD PROVIDE ROOM FOR SPECIALITY MARKETS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN WHICH THE LOCAL TRADERS COULD TAKE A LEAD, FOR MORE HOMEGROWN/HOMESPUN WARES, WHICH WOULD INCREASE THE VIABILITY OF SUSTAINABLE INCOMES FROM THE RESIDENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY, AND EVEN AFFORD SPACE FOR COMMUNITY LEARNING AND THE ARTS.

    ALL THIS IN A NEW BUILD WHICH COULD BE DICTATED TO COMPLY WITH MODERN SUSTAINABLE DESIGN/ENERGY PROVISION, USING LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS AND LABOUR. IS THAT NOT WHAT WE ALL NEED?
