The concert will be broadcast from Emlyn Secondary School Hall and the weblink will be live from 6.15.p.m. to 8.30 p.m. – all you have to do is go to www.allenraine.com and then click on “liverainewebcast” to see the show.
The programme will feature local artistes Radwm, Marian O’Toole and The Attic Players. The production will be crewed by students of Emlyn Secondary School, trained by the University of Lampeter’s Widening Access programme in co-operation with the college’s Media Centre and Y Wennol Cyf.
The University of Wales Lampeter has successfully pioneered community webcasting with the YFC , Merched y Wawr , primary and secondary schools, with its unique Outside Broadcast Unit offering on-the-spot training. Using innovative satellite technology, they will be broadcasting live on the internet. This type of “broadcasting” can lead to a more inclusive and ambitious use of media technology to promote local activities and culture.
You are welcome to join us at Emlyn Secondary School Hall: doors open at 5.45 p.m. and the webcast starts at 6.30.p.m. Entrance fee is £5 for adults (Concessions children £2) to include a free raffle ticket for sumptuous hampers and other prizes. If you want to make it a “fancy” night out, dress in clothes of the period (1896 – 1910) or as a character from one of her books and you might win a prize! Whatever your choice, join us – on the web or in person.
