These photos were mainly taken in Mallett Street, the assembly point for the march. The police had apparently let half of the march go ahead, then delayed the remaining tens of thousands of people for half an hour. We didn't actually leave Mallett Street until nearly 4pm, over 2 hours after arriving. It was soon dark and photos were difficult to take. Official estimates were that 100,000 had been protesting, but many seasoned marchers considered the actual figure to be at least double that figure.

This member of the group got separated from the rest of us and made his way more directly to Trafalgar Square in time for the speeches and toppling of the statue of George Bush.
