Tuesday, 16 December 2003 - Balata Camp invaded

Message from Dave.

Today Balata Camp was invaded starting at 2:30 this morning and is still going on. Now the tanks have just driven past this house (7:45) There were 11 casualties including 2 children this morning and I'm not sure how many this afternoon. One 12 year old boy was shot in the head and is now brain dead. This is the second child that I have seen killed and it is just too much. The IDF kill children regularly because they use live ammunition and fire indiscriminately at all Palestinians. There was no return fire all day but I spent the whole day with the UPMRC picking up casualties and jumping every time jeeps fired at the stone throwing children. One child was only 2 and a half years old and was shot in the leg. Much more when I get to a better keyboard, and can think straight.
