This is the accessibility statement for Newcastle-Emlyn.com. My policy to make this site as accessible as possible, not just for physically challenged users, but to make this site accessible via cell phones, hand held computers, all different kinds of Internet browsers, and readable from whatever country you are in. Accessibility Features
- Links: When applicable, every link features a title attribute with a description of the link’s purpose. Links, when possible, are highlighted in such a way as to make sense, often incorporating a phrase.
- Images: All graphic images and photographs include descriptive references to help the viewer “see” the image, when appropriate.
- Visual design: This website uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for visual layout and design. It only uses relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified “text size” option in the users’ visual browsers or through their accessibility features of their operating system or web browser. If your web browser or device does not support style sheets, the content of each page within our site is still easily readable.
- TAB Navigation: All links on pages can be accessed in order by pressing the the TAB key repeatedly, then ENTER when the required link is highlighted in black and yellow.
- Hand held version: If you access this website from a hand held computer or mobile phone, you will get a special version with the page text, in-text images and basic navigation only.
- Print version: If you choose to print a page from this website, you will get the page text and in-text images only. You will not be required to waste ink and paper printing the navigation and banners.
Standards Compliance
Compliance with web page standards for HMTL, CSS, and Accessibility is a combination of passing the “tests” set by the compliance organizations, and making judgements by manually inspect the design and code to see if it meets compliance standards. These pages pass the following tests.
All pages on this site are WCAG A approved, complying wih all priority 1 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. A number of the WCAG elements are judgement calls; many guidelines are intentionally vague and can not be tested automatically.
