Cawdor Hall Refurbishment Project

Newcastle Emlyn Town Council have been successful in gaining support from the Heritage Lottery  fund to submit a bid for over £250,000 to redevelop the grade 2 listed hall.

Download plans in PDF format or view below.

What will the money be used for?

  • To  re-roof   the building using existing slates  , adding  insulation, repointing , refurbishment of the existing windows,
  • The reinstatement of the original canopy  giving a covered courtyard for events and occasional craft fairs.
  • To establish a   small interpretation centre room to be used as a  town resource and provide a base for activities in and around the Cawdor Hall.
  • To change the ground floor toilets    and  use some of  the space  to create a purpose built   business units

What needs to done to secure the funding

We need to   develop a range of activities focused on the Cawdor Hall. The activities aim to build on what is already happening in the town, supporting existing    events    and will include town walks, more interpretation panels, working closely with local schools; using the courtyard for craft sales.
